As soon as I have a prototype with the metal support frame, I will show it here with the 3-bay hopper. After that there can be a limited quantity pre-ordered. Some members have already. I hope to present the prototypes the end of March. He first batch of 50 pcs in April, the other 200 pcs afterwards. Pre-ordering can also be done at TT-West.

As mentioned before the serie will consist of 5 different B&O numbers and some undecorated ones. Request TT-west for prices, when the prototype are shown.

The rest of the planning is simply depending on the sales of the 250 pcs. Let's wait till I have the correct prototypes.

Ciao,
Rob

With 250pcs of the 2-bay B&O hopper, do you mean 50pcs of each of the five car numbers?

Edit: :o I think the answer stands above.

MTB is always willing to make another batch, but the minimum quantity is 50 pcs. I think it is time for something else.

Rob,

I think I will help you clear out some of the SW inventory as 2017 goes on. Including my recent order from you, I have 6 of the MTB SWs as of this time.

I do agree that it is time for something else, like a road locomotive.

Time to give you an idea about the progress regarding the hopper project or should I say projects.
I was slightly surprised by the quality of the 3-bay hopper produced by MTB, which I retrieved last weekend. Remember this is a 3-D injection molding model. As promised, pictures will tell the story.

Yes of course the model is a bit simplefied compare to the 2-bay hopper, but still . . it has enough detail. This model has also a metal bottom beam, the weight is 32 gr and that is a bit more than the tank car.

On the fair in Dresden, customers were enthousiastic about the 3-bay hopper. I will send the shell to Richard, as soon as it arrives he can further comment it.

Regarding the 2-bay hopper:
The metal beam is the big challenge at the moment. The third mold is now coming up and I hope really this time it works out.

But anyway the 2-bay hopper should be on the market june/july. The 3-bay hopper. depending on your reaction and Richard's, perhaps a bit later. If you like the model, perhaps you can discuss the liveries.

Ciao,
Rob

Hey Rob I'm a bit confused. Is the 2 bay hopper the same as the 33' 2 bay hopper that Ian is working on? The one from this thread 33-2-bay-offset-hopper-t2523-90.html#p40547

Answering for Rob:
YES... Zeuke TT (Rob D.) has arranged to have an RTR version of the car produced in Europe, using the TiTan TT (Ian's) flat-kit plastic injection molded components, and pad-printed decoration from artwork by TT-West.

The RTR car will be available in 5 variants of the Baltimore & Ohio as-built livery with the Capitol Dome - 13 Great States Herald.
