Zeuke vs BTTB couplers on a tank loc, are they replaceable

Postby Rich1853 » Sun Feb 03, 2019 7:44 am

I'm looking at purchasing a BR92 tank locomotive and I notice differences in the coupling design of Zeuke and BTTB, Tilligs in the supplied ebay photos. One of them looks metalic too. Do they couple well together. Are they replaceable with the newer present day Tilligs.

They do not couple together, those are two different systems.
They are replaceable with Tillig couplers - on most of the Zeuke and BTTB models, not all.

I have a couple of Zeuke locos that have couplers that are fastened as such that replacing with BTTB (or Tillig) couplers are not an option. My advice is to use match cars as necessary so that you can assembly trains more or less as you want them.
