WTB: Tillig BR221 centre axle with gear

Postby BTTB Fan » Sat Nov 10, 2012 10:54 pm

Hi, all,

I am looking to purchase a replacement gear for one of my BTTB/Tillig BR221/V180/NOHAB locos, as mine lost one of its teeth...
It's Tillig part #225430 ("Stirnrad mit Achse"), the one that goes above the weight in the middle.

It's a newer model loco, so the ends of the axle are flattened (rather than split, like on the older versions). If you have one lying around, please let me know. My next order from MBW24 (my usual source for parts) is months away and I would really like to get this loco going soon.

Thanks.

i have an older BTTB BR130 which i bought to pull apart and see how BTTB stuff works - i think that is the same chassis as the NOHAB. this is the chassis where it is driven through shafts that go into the trucks themselves. but the axle is flush, i think 2mm diameter neither flattened or split. i suspect this is not likely to be much good for you?

Thanks for checking. It does not sound like BR130 you have would work for me. I am attaching the parts sheet for my BR221, the part I am looking for is #27, it drives the truck shafts (#26) and is driven by inclined shaft (#19). Tillig switched to the new type of shafts in the late 1990s, I think, so anything before then would not work, even if it were BR221...
