Brilliant!

I know.

The stupid thing is that when they put in the water treatment plant and the sewage plant in place, they forgot to take into account that the Red River of the North flows from south to north (it's actually one of the longest that does as such in the US), starting at Whapeton, ND/Breckenridge, MN and ending in Lake Winnipeg, which is just to the north of Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada.

It is a great source of spring flooding too... The south end thaws and floods the still frozen north end... Yet the annual flooding seems to come as a surprise to some residents of the area.

Yeah, every time the river backs up and floods there are literally hundreds that run around and balley-hoo about how flodding "never" happens in North Dakota. In regards to the water plant thing, growing up in Fargo, ND; we drank bottled water most of the time as the tap water smelled so darn bad. There were times where you came out of the shower smelling worse than when you went in.

Sounds funny.
But I'm not keen on experiencing that.
