I'd rather build one myself, and save that grand for things like the RTR SW1200.

Do you have any idea what a massive undertaking it is to build one of those and do it properly?????

It's my ultimate dream to design and manufacture a Big Boy. That will be the height of my "TTness".

That I do. That is part of why I have started with smaller locomotives to start with, and why the 4-2-4 project has gone though 3 frames and a boiler: it takes time and effort to develop the needed skills. Since I have not been able to resume the project for about a year and a half, I am pretty sure more will be attempted before the 4-2-4 is done right.

The "car" that Lindsey is sitting on is a recreation of an old end car. The museum has sections of a few different sections of cars around it. Too bad that the drumhead's lighting was overpowering the ambient lighting.

Here are some photos of Lindsey and crew with the Union Pacific Centenial #6900, and Big Boy #4023.

They are located at Lauritzen Gardens, which is along the interstate entrance to Omaha, NE.

Here is an odd color wood caboose. I doubt that the paint is anything close to authentic. This is at Williston, ND.
