Even the Amtrak Cascades is made of Superliners when the Talgos are sick or when Amtrak has crashed too many of them.

Seriously, for a few weeks every summer, Cascades trains 518 and 519 (Seattle-Vancouver-Seattle) are composed of three Superliner cars. I assume the regular Talgo consist is in for maintenance.

 My computer keeps autocorrecting "Talgo" to "tango"

I remembered that Amtrak Cascade accident in DuPont Washington last December 18, 2018. That was 50 miles away from where I vacation. I also fly in and out of Portland, OR to go to Montesano. I rather drive 2 hours on I-5 northbound than sit in traffic on I-5 southbound from the Sea-Tac airport.

Next time, plan your vacation to coincide with one of our train shows in Vancouver and come visit us. We are a 4-hour drive away from Montesano. Mind you it’s on the I5.

I'll be out there in few weeks from Feb 12 to Mar 5. Also near mid Sept. I would take the train like I did last year when I went to see the Mariners baseball game.

Aside from the issue of availability of what models there are, and then quality issues, then you have issues like certain producers taking €200+ deposits from you and then not communicating with you literally at all...
