My summer project

Post by TheKnighTT » Sat Sep 17, 2022 1:55 pm

Not much modelling over the summer month, but I have not been idle. We went to a tournament and I sewed some suitable clothes. My wife has been reenacting Landsknecht for some time, so I made something for me, as well as something for the girls. I couldn´t find my pants (for the picture) and the hat.

The 16th century hemd is about 5 feet wide, made of linen and gathered/smocked at the collar. About 4700 points marked with a stencil and a pencil and then handsewn on the campground. Comparable to handlaying track.

The wams/doublet is mostly machine sewn. Eyelets handsewn.

And most of the hand sewing was done by my wife, not to forget her effort.

Wow that's intricate work. My grandma sews (or used to) a lot and I'm always amazed. So the wife is perfect for hand-laying track! You can sit back and drink beer as your layout comes alive in front of you lol.

Hurry up and find those pants and hat, I think we need to see you in full costume.
