NMRA 2021 in Santa Clara California

Hi All

I hope you had a great New Years.

The 2021 NMRA National is supposed to be in Santa Clara, California this year.
With Covid badly ravaging California right now, I don't expect that this show will happen.
If it did try to happen, I don't know if our border will be open so I could cross it to go to the show.

Perhaps Richard B. when he has a moment could update us on the status of the show.

I think we can forget about this. Our rollout of the vaccine is slow af. I just don't see a show happening.

Santa Clara, California—The host committee of the 2021 national convention of National Model Railroad Association, Inc., NMRA 2021 Rails By The Bay, announced today that it has canceled its convention that had been scheduled for the Santa Clara Marriott Hotel & Conference Center on July 4-11, 2021. A multi-day video virtual event—which will retain the name NMRA 2021 Rails By The Bay—is under development.

Sad news but not unexpected.
It is not safe to hold shows right now and will not be for a few months. Some states are having events right now(Plano Texas last weekend) but you wouldn't get me anywhere near them. I value my health and life more than a train show.

Perhaps the show can be rescheduled a few years in the future.
