I could use a couple of those if anyone has extras.

WTB any of the HP Products locomotive parts
Re: GP9 detail improvements
I take it these are for the Lok-n-Roll chassis rather than hacking the existing plastic chassis?

Re: GP9 detail improvements
The etched parts from Carsten are an addition to the Lionel plastic chassis. The used drive is irrelevant. They are mounted on the visible places. The drive is inside. See here at ICV RR
Supplement: Carsten does not have any further batches of this sheet metal produced.

Re: GP9 detail improvements
The etched handrails may be available again soon.
A friend asked me if I could make these spark arrestors (picture 1, picture 2). Unfortunately, the exhaust pipes on the Lionel model are quite wide. That's why my spark arrestor is a little wider than the one on the prototype. This G Scale Spark Arrestor served as a template.
What do you think, does that still look right? It is 3.2mm wide (like the exhaust), 4mm high, and 6.6mm deep.

Re: GP9 detail improvements
Looks good! There are some detail pics that show measurements of a real GP9 here-
http://www.planomodelproducts.com/GP9pics.html
if you go down to the 10th row there are a few pics of the exhaust, unfortunately they are not close but if your eyes are better than mine you might be able to make it out? The metal plate is to keep water out of the exhaust, they were added but railroads after the locomotive was built
so that part isn't original.

Re: GP9 detail improvements
Thanks Al, but I already know this site. I find the photographed details very good.
After a look at these photos (pic 1, pic 2), I now have the sides pulled down to the roof. The exhaust is thus completely surrounded.
