The video is taken about 20 to 7 miles north of the Eau Gallie neighborhood where I live. (taped at 3 different locations)
I always hear the train horns at all the crossings, being I live only 4 blocks east of the tracks across the street from the river. (Intercoastal Waterway)

Yesterday Friday 07/12 I finally got to see the RED (GE ES44ACs) that was seen in the above video.(SB 8:30AM Another thing I didn't know that the type of fuel used is liquefied natural gas (LNG), a first in North America. The following link is from 2017 the time of the conversion to LNG. Are there any other railroads using this type of fuel.

I'm honestly surprised there isn't more natural gas being used. The natural gas industry has exploded in the past decade (to such a degree that it killed coal).

The BN had at the beginning of the 90s a 5-year field test of the LNG fuel concept. They used a fuel tender with a capacity of 20,000 gallons and modified SD40-2s. http://www.rrpicturearchives.net/showPi ... id=1861354 The tenders were reused 20 years later by the BNSF for an EMD- and GE-sandwich-consist. It was each two SD70ACe and two ES44AC.

The UP had also in the mid-90s a natural gas project with EMD and GE without a success. The CN has leased for a year-long test one of these UP tenders. http://utahrails.net/up/up-fuel-tenders.php

Interesting - thanks. Maybe it makes more economic sense now that natural gas is so much cheaper than it was back then.
