Brightline railroad 180 mile extension to Orlando FL
Re: Brightline railroad 180 mile extension to Orlando FL
Everybody, I hope I'm not overdoing all these videos and photos that I been posted. It's not every day that a railroad is constructing a mainline very close to home. Flat Florida is one thing I would like to see the surveying and construction over and thru mountains.
I guess I picked a perfect avatar, me coming from the aerospace industry.

As far as I'm concerned, you're far from overdoing anything. I personally love the stuff. And even if I didn't, so what? It's train related on a train forum.

I think they are great. Just shows what can be done if there's enough incentive. We had a local bridge come down, due to shifting piers, over the main southern rail line ( Sydney to Melbourne ) 9 months ago. The initial response was just to divert all road traffic on a 45 minute detour and forget about it. After the local councils threatened legal action and costs for the damage to roadways it took until Feb this year to construct and install a temporary single lane bridge with a 20 kph speed limit. Estimates are that it will be another 12 months before things are restored to normal. In the mean time, with harvest only finishing a few weeks ago all our local roads now have more potholes than there are craters on the moon.

A new video. June 22 2022
The International Ballast Edition
Ballast from Canada off loading from Port Canaveral.
Also a rare opportunity to see a couple of Space X Falcon 9 rockets being unloaded from their drone ships which were used as landing platforms out in the Atlantic Ocean.

Re: Brightline railroad 180 mile extension to Orlando FL
It never occurred to me that individual rails are a full train length. Crazy...
