Always keep a well-stocked parts bin!

Post by AstroGoat760 »

Here is one for a short laugh:

A few days ago, one of the screws that holds the nosepad on my glasses fell out, and seemingly went into oblivion. CaTT and I looked all over for a replacement screw for the nosepad, purchasing a few different kits at retail stores, and none of the screws fit or worked at all. Finally, CaTT looks at me and asks about my TT Scale parts bin, and suggest that I check there for a matching screw.

Sure enough, a spare screw from a MTL 1023 coupler, cut down in half, fit the bill!

Lesson learned: never underestimate the usefulness of a well-stocked parts bin!
Life is short, play with TT Scale Trains!

The 95% of things you're never going to need is more than made up for by the 5% that come in useful!

As for me, vise versa: I usually find something usual for my TT-scale models in our home "unuseful stuff" bin!

I'm gonna just *not* show this to my dad... it's like squeezing water from a stone, trying to get him to get rid of anything... 40 year old overhead fans for stoves, 30 year old tins of paint...
