"Where the Hell is Zeke Now?"

Post by AstroGoat760 »

All,

As a number of you may be aware, I am on vacation right now. So far, only ConducTTor knows about some of the travels of "Zeke", my Zeuke Class 81 0-8-0. He has been with me this entire trip, and has been shown off at many locations, in a feeble attempt to spread awareness of TT scale.

At almost every location we have stopped at, he has been featured in photos at different attractions and locales.

Here are some of the locations that Zeke has made a showing at so far in this trip:

Pennsylvania Railroad Museum; Stasburg, PA
TCA Toy Train Museum: Strasburg, PA
Horseshoe Curve: Altoona, PA
Altoona RR Museum: Altoona, PA
Tennesse Valley RR Museum: Chattanooga, TN
NMRA Headquarters: Chattanooga, TN
Various places in Atlanta, GA
The Southern Museum: Kennesaw, GA (Home of the GENERAL 4-4-0)

Zeke has had other partners in crime this trip, namely a wooden Brio-type loco I bought for my son in Strasburg at the Choo Choo barn, and my wife's prized N scale N&W freight diesel. We have a photo of all 3 togther at the Curve.

Zeke made a splash at the NMRA headquarters. I explained to those there about the desire that my wife and I have for model trains in general, and TT scale specifically. One of the older workers told me that he thought that TT scale was a "dead scale". I told him that if that was the case, then Zeke is a zombie.

"How can one kill something that is no longer living?"

ConducTTor, I did some advertising for TT Nut.com while I was there - I left a note about the site on the entry we made in the guest book there.

Anyways, the trip has been fun so far, about 1600 photos so far, most of them of trains real and model. We are also plus a "passenger" - a little manx kitten that wandered up to us while we were taking photos of a passing NS train.

All that aside, I have been thinking of making a posting or series there of entitled "Where the Hell is Zeke Now?"

One week, I will post a Photo of Zeke at some location.

The next, I will give the location.

Either that or I will just post a series of travel photos under the same title.

'Sailor just use the attachment option when posting. ALSO, after you attach something you can click on 'inline' and the site will automatically add the pic to the post so it shows. If the pic is too big no worries - if the site can't convert it into a thumbnail, it will simply show what it can. From there on, a member simply has to click on it and they will be automatically taken to the full size / full resolution version.

As soon as we find were it went to, we will get the photos from the camera and off of the laptop to put on our main computer and get photos posted.

Vacation is over, we are back in ct (ugh.). There are plenty of places for Zeke to go, so his traveling days are far from over.

Here are some of the photos of Zeke during the trip.

Most of the photos were transferred from the digital camera to my iBook laptop, when I transferred the photos from the Apple to CD, I was pleased to find out that the programming for the photo management software on the iBook made thumbnails of all the pictures loaded onto it.

Now if only running a windows based computer was so easy.....

The one on the left is my son's newest Brio - type wooden engine, and the one on the right is Nicholle's N scale N&W GP7, which she has had for about 5 years now.

For some reason, no matter what I have tried, it will not let me post anything larger than the thumbnails. Most of the photos are on the order of 1-3MB in size.
