H.P.Products Challenger on ebay
Am I allowed to make y'all aware that someone is selling one of the rare H.P.Products Challengers on ebay?
I am in no way related to or affiliated with the seller. And I am not gonna bid on this one. Luckily for the purse, there were no Challengers in the Pacific Northwest.

Sorry if this temps your to blow your bank balance, but there were.
The Northern Pacific Z-6 #5100-5120 built 1936/37. The Z-7's # 5121-5126 all built in 1941 and the Z-8's # 5130-5149 built in '43/44.
All were scrapped at either Tacoma or Brainard in the late '50's with the last ones going in 1959 along with most of the big 4-8-4 Northerns.

And the Spokane, Portland & Seattle also got 2 oil-burning Z-8.
Thank you, Ian. I did not know that. I think I'll pass and give the bank account a rest. After a covid break my other hobbies claim financial attention.

@TheKnighTT: At steamlocomotive.com you get a good overview of the various North American steam locomotives. There, when you find the next rare model, you can look at which railroad company the prototype ran by.
@all: Good luck! I'm out on this old thing.

@MacG: That´s an enormous wealth of information, thank you. I am back in the armchair, no modelling. I just have to wait to get an H.P. Products 2-10-4 Selkirk.
I looked up the H.P.Products Challenger in the catalogue, while in my armchair. Ready-to-run for $85 in 1959, the way inflation went that would be $850 today.
