By Richard Self on Facebook. Is he on this forum? When I made the post asking for people's locations, I'd made a vague threat about organising a meet up. Well, I've actually gone a step further - I've booked and paid for a hall in Cheltenham on the 2nd of July. I'd like this event to be a TT Modellers' Day - as much as forum as an exhibition, there will be some layouts but I'd really like to make it an exchange of ideas and general presentation of TT. 1:120 will be the focus, though there are some very good 3mm scale modellers locally so naturally I'll be extending invitations to them.
If you have anything you'd like to present that's relevant to such an event, please do put yourself fowards. I'd love a display or layout featuring early 1:120 such as Rokal, Zeuke and BTTB, and models of multiple countries - Czechia and Germany are relatively easy to cover, if anyone's got Polish, Hungarian or anything else I'd love to know. I have met a chap who was modelling Balkan TT, I'll be putting feelers out to remind myself who that was - Robin somebody I think...
Trade suggestions are most welcome. I will invite Hornby, Peco, Gaugemaster and Golden Valley, though who'll come to a little church hall event I don't know! All I can do is extend the invitation.
So, one and all, save the date - 2nd July 2023. The location is central Cheltenham. This isn't an event just for our group members, but it will be set up with the group's interests in mind.
I won´t be able to make it, but I wanted to let you guys know about it.
