On our way to Chilliwack Friday we passed a truck carrying a tank container, the first one I have ever seen. I thought it was worth a photo.

When we arrived for show set-up we found our fourteen tables arranged end to end. That would have made a layout 112 feet long.

The final arrangement, 64 ft long.

The Lions Club who sponsor the show open with national anthems and a pipe band which marches through the venue.

I love the last photo. When properly adjusted, those old HP steamers can run quite nicely.

Thanks for sharing these show reports. It is good to hear the complete process from initial design to show photos and after event report.
Just wondering what those tanks cars behind the gondolas?

I can't say for certain the make of the black tanker car, but the yellow one is a modified Maisto tanker car with new trucks and couplers.

Thank you for showing these photos. This is a nice long layout.

The tank container contains "Methane, cooled liquid (cryogenic liquid) or Natural gas, cooled liquid (cryogenic liquid) with high Methane content". Maybe it's Top Fuel for Dragster because it's called "Top Speed".

Maisto, thanks for that. I think I have heard the name but haven't really noticed them before.

Maisto has been an on-again off-again producer of near TT Scale trains (1/131) that work well enough when couplers and trucks are replaced with functional ones.

I have quite a few laying around the train room.

As usual the layout deviated from the plan.
2019 Chilliwack Final..jpg
Had there been space between the emergency exit doors, we had enough modules for another eight foot table. An extra long back track was made on the right to make a place to setup equipment that did not like the current sharp reverse curve into the staging yard.

Terrible. Just terrible. Who wants to see a tiny 64 foot display?
