"Sound of Crickets"

The convention was well run.
Layout Tour videos were available the weeks before the event and during the event.
Each day registrants got a code for the 'Great Hall'
The Great Hall had the schedule for the day. From there you jumped to the clinics (Zephyr or Daylight) or a Breakout Room.
After a clinic was over you could follow the clinician to a breakout room for further discussion. Usually in a convention, when the clinic is over, that's it. Here the discussion could, and did, go on for hours.
The Breakout rooms also had Manufacturers presentations every lunch time, Sig groups and other special interest groups like TT.
Although the actual event is over, it carries on for registrants as the clinics are online until early August, so you can see every clinic and repeat ones you liked.
It was well done, a few hitches but not bad.
It was open to everyone, not just NMRA registrants.
It was worth the $49 to register.
Of course all the other events were missed, the NMRA show with our layout, vendors to buy from, BS sessions at dinner, and all the other fun activities.
It was a lot cheaper, no $1,000s for travel, food and accommodation. No need for a newer minivan to get to the event.
It did cost me more money as the two clinics on tools spurred a few purchases. As well the crappy Arduino Clinic (don't let a techno-weenie run a clinic, it gets too technical) has caused me to buy some Arduino stuff to experiment with.

Was it worth it, yes.
The NMRA now has a template on how to run a virtual event and there was some discussion about holding a virtual event along side the real one.

Next year the show is in St. Louis, then I think Fort Worth, then Cleveland??
2025 the show should rotate back to the west coast. No takes yet but we will see.

We now return you to your regularly scheduled - sound of crickets.
Regards

Thanks very much for the run-down of the events.
Did anyone there mention TT scale?
