TT Tracks is 12 today.

I hope we can be a bit more active than last year.
I expect to take the GuiTTar display to Nanaimo again this ear. Will take the Hornby Trains set as well.
No Western Rails most likely ever again. There is an event in Squamish about the same time but not too interested in going there.
I hope for a weekend private setup at BCSME in February.

Chilliwack might be awake this year.
VTE is hoping to happen this year. Unfortunately it is the same weekend as another event I wish to attend.

The NMRA show is too far away.
Victoria might be possible for GuiTtar display.

Happy Birthday! Crazy how time flies. I appreciate your contribution to the scale. All my modules are built based on the TT-Tracks specs :)

I've signed up to do a presentation for The PCR NMRA LD-OPSig 'Layout Design Challenge' in February...
http://bayldops.com/challenge.html ...with the idea of supplementing my existing double TT-Tracks modules with additional sections to make them a stand-alone British-style "exhibition layout".

This would be a design exercise in adding a sector plate (or similar) section at the right end...
and a 300mm wide hidden storage yard section behind the backdrop on one or both of my 1000mm modules.
I would also add the requisite proscenium arch... i.e. black front face to frame the TT-Tracks scene... and hide the sector plate & yard.

This would result in a nominally 3000mm by ~ 600mm switching layout that I could utilize at local events here is the SF Bay Area.

The BIG advantage is that the two basic TT-Tracks remain unchanged... and can be thrown in the back of the SUV for the ride North.
I really don't mind the 950+ mile drive up to BC... in fact I look forward to them, but the TT-Tracks opportunities are few!!!

Attached is the presentation for the Feb. 4th event...

Our dinner was good. Noisy and $$ and not really our kind of place. I miss Red Robin.
There were only three of us, Tibi, Kathy and myself. Terry is not well right now. Zenia was supposed to come but had a family emergency, and apparently Richard was busy washing his hair<G>.

I hope to have a setup late March at BCSME. I would like to see how the Hornby equipment performs on our TT-Tracks modules.
I will be at the Nanaimo Show Sunday April 2nd, with the GuiTtar case and a Hornby display running outside of that.
The results of todays Hornby test run are in the Hornby TT thread.

The Sidney(Victoria show) is late September. I hope to be there with the same display as Nanaimo.
No word on Chilliwack yet.
Vancouver Train Expo is November 4th and 5th with setup on Friday the 3rd.

No word on any other local shows that I am interested in. If something interesting were to come up, I would be interested in attending with a small display.

I am down for any/all of these shows:
  • March BCSME -- yes!
  • April Nanaimo -- is there a way to take a bigger display there?
  • Summer BCSME -- yes for anything
  • September Victoria -- same as Nanaimo
  • Chilliwack -- fingers crossed!
  • November VTE -- yes!
