The banner colors (background and characters) and the color of the table cloth should be to a color scheme from the color theory. Just my opinion.

Colour theory?

I guess I need to do some more research...

Seriously, though, the two proposals for a banner are just based on my preference for the colour orange, nothing more, and I am open to suggestions. I just want something that stands out without being too confusing to look at.

Here are a couple of modules for the corner of the "power section" of the modular layout:

This is an idea for a 4x3 "Mountain Module":

Hmmm...the "HO" stands out huh? I can totally see that. Not good.

Experiments with crude colour swapping. The goal was to reduce the impression of HO and highlight TT. I'm not sure any version is satisfactory. The simple 'TT scale' is effective but not attractive. I favour the one with the blue TT circle.

If no variation satisfying, at least it shows that improvement might be possible with only minor changes.

My opinion, there is no guessing, it's all spelt out

(underscore):
LESS SPACE
THAN
(larger characters):
HO

(centralized in enclosed circle):
TT
(next line in quotes or underscore):
"PERFECT" (or "PERFECT SIZE")

TT NUT.COM

(right third area;
underscore):
BIGGER TRAINS (or LARGER TRAINS)
THAN
(character size TBD)

Instead of 'perfect' I often tell visitors TT is 'ideal', thinking of BTTB's 'Die Ideale Spur'.

Here are the version I sent to Richard for printing.

All the principles are there: clearer wording, DIN typeface (suggesting precision and quality), lots of white space for legibility, the colour scheme that is established now on t-shirts and printed material. The width/height ratio is still to be determined. We talked about also making a retractable roll-up version, hence the second, vertical design.

I like that word better.

In the horizontal banner I like the usage of the mathematical symbols: is less than and is greater than.
