Mike, as far as the Nationals, myself and AngrySailor had layouts at the 2013 here in Atlanta and Mark from Sazmodel came down from Canada to help out. Rob from ZeukeTT was at the 2014 in Cleveland with a few models and some track. I hope to be at the Orlando show with a layout.

I see the benefit of the TT Tracks mini-modules. Especially with everyone scattered everywhere.

I wonder if any of those 3mm British locos would kitbash into some American steamers?
I saw a nice 0-8-0 that might kitbash nicely and it's only 40 pounds.

European and British prices area great right now. Euros are $1.06 and pounds are $1.49
I'm getting a Sprog from Britain, because the pound is so low right now.

British TT is 1:101, not 1:120, so British locomotives can bee too big for TT.
Also, I am afraid all that British locomotives are very old, so they can be in poor condition.

Maybe it would be better to use some modern TT steam locomotives from Tillig?
It seems to me that BR56 would be good for kitbashing into some Consolidation 2-8-0 (I have seen some PRR locomotive that was looking very similar to BR56).
Or maybe BR01 or BR23 as Pacific...

Some British steamers could be modified to work as North American TT. I have a spare GEM 4-4-0 chassis (the body is ruined, thanks to my brothers-in-law), and a Tri-Ang 4-6-2 chassis that would work as NA TT parts, not to mention my kitbashed Tri-Ang based heavy Consolidation. You just need to be picky about what you use.
