The manual is detailed and in several languages including English. Includes diagrams of all parts and construction.
The locomotive consists of two identical halves. Both halves have a motor with flywheel, both have 4 driving wheels two of which have traction tires. Electrical pickup is from all 12 main wheels.
Lights are directional - 3 forward. For DCC operation, the model is equipped with TWO NEM 651 interfaces. This is important!!! Each half must have it's own decoder which means two are required for the locomotive.
The two halves are connected via a plastic connector. The two motors are connected as well via cardan shaft. There is also wiring between the halves connecting the two circuit boards.
Electrical pickup can be switched to cat wire using two switches on the circuit boards.
The couplers included with the model are of the N scale type (Brawa doesn't have a license to use Tillig couplers?) . However, there is provision for the contemporary Tillig type couplers.
Before attempting to raise the pantographs, you must bend out a tab on each which holds them in the closed position (very silly - see detail picture below).
The model operates very smoothly however, it is a bit noisy. The detail is outstanding except for the light fixtures which are far from the prototype.
Will handle 286mm curves and the classic BTTB switches with no problems.
