Is there a good way to remove lettering from a Tillig car without damaging the underlying paint?

I used denature alachol and a q-tip to remove the ASG logo on some molded NOT painted yellow BTTB boxcars to make it look like a Bahnbau Gleisbau Gruppe car.

The cars I'd like to reletter are painted, though...

As Rich1853 says, denatured alcohol and a Q-tip (cotton swab). Some other fluids are brake fluid DOT4 and nail polish remover (acetone-free). Different types of pad printing and paint removers are available here in Europe.

Or mechanically with an eraser with a sharp edge. The article Seed Sc.20 or Radar S-60 from Japan is said to be good. You can then polish the surface with a wine cork.

A fiberglass eraser is also an option. Be careful with the fibers.

Thanks, that eraser tip worked out well!
