AstroGoat and Company's 2021 TT Scale Resolutions

Post by AstroGoat760 »

With just over 2 months to go until the end of the "Year of Heck" (2020), it is time to start formulating plans for our 2021 TT Scale Resolutions.

Here is a glimpse of what the resolutions may look like:

Status Report: 13Smarch2021
1.) TT Scale Videos xx/24
2.) TT Scale Locomotives xx/06
3.) TT Scale Road Vehicles xx/24
4.) TT Scale Structures xx/12
5.) TT Scale Railcars xx/24
6.) TT Scale non-Road Vehicles xx/04

I had originally planned for 4 displays in 2021, including at least one "major" show. With my compromised immune system (Thank you, US Navy!), I do not feel that shows are a good idea at this time. So, videos and possibly a "live stream" are the next best idea.

Inputs on resolutions and numbers are much appreciated.

I guess the next step is to generate metrics for the 2021 TT Scale resolutions.

Perhaps we could figure out an "online TT Scale Convention" for 2021?
TT Scale... In my case, it is a family affair...

That's actually an interesting idea  . What do you imagine it would involve?

Our local NMRA branch is doing Zoom meetings, even has a "modeling night" on Thursdays where everyone can join in and show what's on the bench. Not sure what the cost for Zoom is,m though?
The National NMRA and some of the regions have done NMRAx clinics on Facebook Live and Youtubr, that could be an option. It does take some set up, and may be a little inconvenient- the guy that started organizing them lives in Ireland, so when they do a day of presentations his sleep gets a bit disrupted!

I guess one of my goals for the next few weeks is to rebuild our 38" x 72" layout with Tillig track so we can start a series of videos on TT Scale as fast as we can, in preparation for 2021. The layout works for the most part as-is, but the relative fragility of the Keuhn turnouts has made bi-directional operations impractical, not to mention the lower code of rail as compared to Tillig keeps us from running some of our equipment as we want to.

I think zoom meetings would be cool. We can take turns doing show and tell or how-tos or whatever. I can take a look at zoom pricing (or an alternative).

We can also look at Skype as well, for comparison's sake.
