Thank you, someone else did the job. My only job was buying it on ebay :)
The wood for making the transformer was not included. Anyway, would it look like a transformer?
I was thinking of using either a large transformer from N-scale substation kit or small transformer from H0-scale substation kit.

Agreed.....the kit components for the transformer are very basic (a wood block with some wood trim pieces). I think an N scale substation kit transformer would fit well on the depressed center flatcar.

Interesting.....the kit noted in post #1 includes a decal sheet for the New Haven. The decal sheet is also referenced on the instruction sheet. jp's post of the completed car shows New Haven markings.

I have a pair of UTTSOs... (Unidentified TT Scale Objects) which are apparently brass copy-casts of the plastic FD model sides... I think they were done in Germany.

As designed... the kit is similar to the famous New Haven transformer cars:

I intend to stretch the frame with brass stock to make something a bit more modern:
