BTTB Super Set, Art. Nr. 1978

This set is from the late 80's, early 90's and sold as item number 1978. Included is a BR 171 railbus with trailer, a BR 81, 2 "thunderbox" passenger cars and 2 extended 2 axle gondolas.

The BR171 pair has 2 axle pickup in the driving unit which can effect operation on dirty track or over dead spots. These units are the best detailed parts of the set. Lighting is non-operational.

The BR81 is standard.

Passenger coaches are well painted, but with the same car numbers. There is no interior detail or lighting.

The gondolas are completely unremarkable. They are in the colour of the plastic with no markings or extra detail.

I was able to buy the set in Brno, new, during the early 1990's
