Kraftwerk always reminds me of a very funny Simpsons episode. No idea which one it is - look it up.

Burns verkauft den Kraftwerk.

Mr Burns sells the powerplant to some Germans. Don't remember all of the story but I do remember at the end one of the Germans saying "I must get back to Duesseldorf in time to see Kraftwerk".

I saw Kraftwerk in concert last summer. I waited nearly 25 years to see them and it was worth every minute of the wait. Discovering Kraftwerk is what made me decide to make music.

This is pretty close to the version of Radioactivity (originally released in 1975) they played here in Vancouver at the Queen Elizabeth Theatre last July; the video background was different here, though. Ralf Huetter and Florian Schneider are in their 70s now... still killing it.

Nomi is cool but much too organic... Kraftwerk haven't used any organic instruments (guitars, analogue drums, etc) since 1970! They're the reason for the ubiquity of synthesisers, and direct inspirations for the origins of techno in Detroit, hip-hop in New York, industrial in Belgium and Vancouver, the Manchester electronics of the early 90s... basically anything of modern popular music that isn't pure guitar-bass-drums rock and roll can be directly or indirectly traced back to Kraftwerk.

I am pretty sure that was a mean sheep, not a goat in that video.
