Sherman and T-34 (my uncle's favorite tank of all time) tanks.....the Yanks and Ruskies don't get together like that too often.

But in the key points of history they often DID.
Besides the World War II, in the World War I too.
And in 1863, during the Civil War in America, Russia sent a fleet (2 squadrons) to New York and San Francisco to prevent English and French intervention (on the side of the Confederation) and give moral support to Lincoln's government.

BTW, as I know, in May 2012, Russian airborne troops for the first time will take part in the joint military exercises on the American territory, in Fort Carson, Colorado.

So it seems like when it matters we're great friends. Otherwise not so much. I guess the relationship could be worse :lol:

Sure. :)

Note: USA is the only big country with which Russia has never was at war.
The relationships sometimes were not too good, but Russia never was at war with USA!
Great Britain and France, Germany and Sweden, Turkey and China... but never USA! 8-)
