At each show a father and son visit us. The father knows Xenia who did not make it to the show this time (birthday bash the night before, so I was told). I don't remember their names. The boy likes to hang out. This time he had just acquired at the show an N scale Amtrak dining car (by Kato) which he asked to park on the staging yard of Bill's layout, which I let him do. He wants to participate. His father came back with an N scale Amtrak loco for him. I wasn't at that end of the affair but I think the Amtak loco belongs to the boy and he put it on display.

Yes, the show is over and we had great fun. It was good to put names to board users and faces to names. The concentration of TT knowledge and expertise was so high that sparks were flying (Guardians of TT, huh?). I learned a lot from everybody there. My only regret is that I was so busy that I forgot to take any photos.

The layouts ran well, without many hiccups. We tried to replicate Lac Magantic on the TT-Tracks layout with the longest tanker train in the show (27 cars, 94 axles, 1.87 metres long). It ran flawlessly and we did not have to call the firefighters. In the biggest TT mash-up of the day Voytek's Polish freight diesel pulled Terry's Rheingold train on my layout. It only derailed once in two hours when it fouled a switch under the second car.

Bjorn's layout was the best, by far. Congrats. We all have now to work hard to match it.

See you guys in Portland.

Best-of-Show Award—that's absolutely great!!!

Wouldn't it be worth an article in some model railroad magazine?
Wouldn't it be great if people read something about an award-winning TT-scale layout in North America?
Is there somebody with the neccessary contactors to make that happen?

My congratulations to you Bjoern!

Agreed with LVG1, somebody must inform hobby press about it. Maybe Model Railroad Hobbyist, or Railroad Model Craftsman, or Model Railroader?..
