I think the SD45 is a good choice, if big C-Cs are your thing. Lots of railroads used it. However I can find no roof plans for it, and you do really need them to do the fans right.

I would buy an etch and put it away, so that I could get it out one day and scratchbuild these oddballs . . .

I think he's standing by his mail box waiting!
I sent him some information last week, a copy of the Model Railroadder Cyclopedia for Diesels and a small book put out bu Mainline Modeler specifically about the SD-45, it has a nice set of drawings in S scale that can be reduced.. It's been a week since I sent them, the P.O. said it would take 5- 10 days so I'm hoping it's close- but going that far, with CUstoms and all I hope it is soon.
