Good point. But will they release one with those trucks? So far we get these:

The Czech and German sites indicate that the model is "new construction with different bogies to item 04620 (DR)". Originally the prototype locomotives were produced with american style trucks before they switched to Czech standard. I can only assume that is what they mean.

Actually the trucks are not a big deal. I'm bet the old version could be made to work with then new bogies. Here is a model with them. http://cgi.ebay.de/Diesellok-T-435-040- ... 286.c0.m14. These models tend to go for next to nothing on Ebay (a lot less than <<<this one).

Hmmm... Very true. I have found that I've never been happy with the performance of the old mechanisms. The old Zeuke stuff was OK for its time but the quality dropped off when the company was nationalized and became BTTB. I'll pay the money for a quality mechanism. Thanks for the link though.

What about a GE U6-B, which was the prototype the Czech T435 is actually based on:

What I meant was, take the truck side frames and attach them to the new version.

Someone make the US style sideframes-

The etched SW1200 model was originally designed to fit the T435 chassis, but most had the Czech style frames- Fred made these to modify them. He has a few other TT items, and I'm patiently waiting for the gondola he's building!

Based on those trucks, it looks as though it would be a good candidate for a new shell based off of the Alco S-2 switcher.

The "new" T435, does it have the same style chassis as the old? The one I have has the center two axles powered, and the outer two are unpowered. A clever way to do it, but not easy to modify. Anyone have a pic with the shell off?
