UK TT event - from Continental Modeller

UK TT event - from Continental Modeller

Postby Rich B » Thu Nov 20, 2014 10:32 am

Alan Monk passed the following on to me, from the pages of CM.

Possible TT event in the UK

Axel Klozenbücher is planning to organise a dedicated one day event for UKbased modellers of European TT (1:120 scale) to take place in 2015. The date and location are yet to be confirmed, although a venue in Derby and an early March calendar slot are currently being considered.

The event is aimed at modellers interested in starting in European TT as well as those already actively using it, and is planned to feature support and information for the scale, traders with products from all the main manufacturers of TT

products (such as Tillig, Piko, Roco, and Auhagen), and second-hand sales.

A number of layouts have already been provisionally invited, representing several different countries.

The event is being organised independently to further knowledge and appreciation of continental and worldwide TT in the UK.

If you are interested in participating, either with a layout or as a trader, please contact Axel: AAK2008@hotmail.co.uk 07743 660 461

I'd attend certainly. Maybe with a US master or two.

I've had an email today confirming the date and venue, as well as a formal invitation for Stromallee. Thankfully, now I have all the laser cut parts, having a presentable layout seems achievable.

Sunday 1st March 2015
Opens 10.30am and closes 4.00pm
Entry: £4.00 All Adults.
York Suite, Smart Aston Court Hotel, Midland Road, Derby DE1 2SL (opposite railway station)

Has this event something to do with 50 yrs anniversary of the 3mm scale society? I read recently several articles and reports of their history and new iniciatives.
Greetings from Austria

It's being put together under the banner of the European Railways Association.

For whatever reason, the original flyer said Saturday 1st March. I've had confirmation that it is Sunday 1st March.
