LOL! No, actually the Southern Pacific is my second choice as a railroad to model, but trying to figure out how to even come close to getting some of those lighting package details right (along with things like icicle breakers, etc.), well it gets a little crazy! I've been meaning to take some time and check out a Norkin SD45 etch and see if I could rob a few from there, Ken Rickman made a big Pyle National headlight available on Shapeways (that I can use on some Erie/ EL GP's), so I just have to sit down and figure out some particulars. And finish my long stalled SD9 project and see if an SDP45 is a possibility!

I'm happy to announce that my first order from TT West arrived today, safe and sound and only two days cross country!
Thanks Richard!

got my switch machines yesterday. They look great. Looking forward to hooking up some power and trying them out.

Didn't totally realize how small they are. They will fit under the layout a whole lot easier that the green boxes. :)

Got my tanker, and unfortunately, I broke one of the handrails. Does anyone know what type of glue to use to fix the handrail?

If it's the typical engineering plastic, that's going to be tough, I would try canopy cement.

I've repaired similar cars in other scales by changing the handrails to brass wire. Something like .010" would be about right for TT scale......DaveB

All

The end handrails have been noted as the most fragile (and exposed) component of the MTB FunnelFlow cars... the price one pays for attempting a fine-scale 1-1/2in (0.013) diameter.

The repair option may include a surface prep and one of the bonder-enhanced super-glues. If anyone mangles one irreparably... contact TT-West - info@tt-west.com off-line and we will figure something out.

Took a peak at my tank car. handrails Aok. If I would have to replace the handrails I'd use .008 Phosphor bronze wire from Tichy Train Group pat #1100. YMMV.
