Guys I'm super excited! With the help of Obi Wan McAllister, I think the nail's been hit on the head. I got the latest from Rob and Shapeways and the most important piece (gearbox) looks VERY promising. The mesh feels smooth :)

There are still small adjustments to be made here and there but it's all easy stuff. I hope to have a functional chassis on the tracks for testing soon.

is this a 9' truck or a 9'4" wb ?

or did you go for somewhere between the two?

It's a 9' + a smidge. In scale it will be 0.7mm short on this model.

great. unlikely to be noticed. i thought slightly smaller is better than too long. more swivel room.

Ben, I have the swivel room but was limited by the gears available to me. To stretch the wheelbase I'd have to loosen the mesh beyond what's ok. Also, there is simply no space for adding 2 more gears (to stretch the truck).
