Does it look like they will work?

I was thinking I could machine in some small pins & holes for aligning the two halves easier.

Not sure yet. As of yesterday all trains and train related things are packed for the move. Also, the mating parts won't arrive from shapeways for at least another week. In a few weeks hopefully I'll have time to see if things work out. As for alignment pins, I'd thought about it but I'll see if I can get away without them before putting in any more work.
