TT chassis for GP40 etc

i think i may have found an N chassis right in all measurements for a GP40, GP38 etc. 34' truck centres,9' trucks. however it's unlikely to fill anyone with confidence. it's the old con-cor 80s SD40-2.it can be regauged in theory but with the centre axle removed it would only be powered on one axle of each truck. not sure if that would work, but i think some horrors of early euro N were powered like that. when i get some axles / wheels from NWSL I will try it. they are out of stock at the moment.

weird mechanism; you can see it in the last shot on spookshow's site: http://www.visi.com/~spookshow/ccsd.html

same mech that concor used for their C636, using roco bits and a mabuchi motor. as the SD40-2 /SD50 were longer, and the truck gear tower was off centre, what they did was make a longer mech by flipping one of the bogies around so what was the inner dummy axle hangs out the front. if the centre axles are removed, to turn it into a B-B, it will have one inner axle powered at one end, and the outer axle powered at the other. i am not a mechanical expert but that doesn't sound like a recipe for good running.

Looking at the mech there's no way to tell if its good or not. The reversed bogies are a bit weird - just look weird.
