can i ask how you clean them before painting? there is a wax residue on shapeways products and they say the best way to clean them is a chemical called 'bestine' which is heptane. i am not sure it is available in the UK, or at least it is proving hard to find here.

Taxari and I use a 2% solution of sodium hydroxide, in combination with ultra sonic or 5 hours waiting time.
