Thanks for the additional photos and video of the GuiTTar Case display

It was wonderful to see the layout in operation :!:

The double slip switch.....is it a commercially available product (Kuhn track?) or is it scratchbuilt :?:

@milwrd1: The double slip is Tilligs DKW 83300. I have not a single electric or mechanical problem with it.

MacG wrote:@CN-TT: This is a nice idea with the "The GuiTTar Case". Perhaps a little bit deep, but a good layout for switching. Can you install it in the lid of the case?
Keep in mind that there is no reaching into the case by hand. The turnouts are all remotely controlled, the locomotives are remotely controlled and so are the couplers. The view from above is much like looking at a diagram of a switching puzzle brought to life.

And while there were four of us together at the TT display, an important contribution was made by Bill Dixon, who had little time to spend with us because he was working at the Central Hobbies display next to our TT. He brought the TT Tracks modules and control system, he arranged for our display space and for our name tags, etc. Although busy with customers he was always available when I couldn't figure out the Digitrax throttle. He did all this despite having a wife in the hospital facing the possibility of surgery. He deserves a lot of credit and our thanks.

Here are more photos of structures, to satisfy Arseny's curiosity.

I love the long slow ride through "the world" in the first video. Bjoern, I wonder if you can lift the guiTTar surface up by 2 or 3 cm? It would still leave space for scenery but would show the rails and trains better.

Bjoern, your "GuiTTar Case" layout is really great!
Do you cover it by glass or some plastic?
What type of switching machines do you use, and where do you hide them?

@Arseny: Thank you. No, it's not covered during shows. For transport I'm using the lid that came with the case. I just removed the hinges and replaced it with 2 new latches. Now I can remove the lid completely.

For some more details on how it was done, please follow the links:

Why only for Arseny?
I also like to see the possibilities and learn from them.

Posting images of structures is an excellent idea in general; not only on a single person's requirement...
