TrainLife Magazine Archive

Postby Richard-B » Thu Oct 26, 2017 8:12 pm

Great News...
The TrainLife magazine archive has been restored... with free access:
https://trainlife.com/pages/the-magazine-library
Magazines include:
  • MRG: Model Railroading
  • RMJ - Railmodel Journal
  • PMM - Prototype Modeler
  • plus RailNews, Model Builder, and 1001 Model Railroading Ideas
For (semi-)obvious reasons... the magazines that have CD collections, i.e. MR, RMC, and NG&SLG...
don't have their pages on-line here.

An efficient way to use the TrainLife archive is in conjunction with the Trains Magazine Index from Kalmbach....
http://trc.trains.com/Train%20Magazine%20Index.aspx?view=SearchResults&advanced=true
Note that registration is required to the Trains site... at the cost of several marketing emails per week...

Put a search term (like 'IPD") and a magazine from TrainLife's list (e.g. "Railmodel Journal")...
and you have your 'shopping list' to download pages from TrainLife.

Disclaimer: I will NOT be held responsible for any life costs incurred by spending WAY to much time looking through all these articles!!!

Very neat, I just looked through the oldest Model Railroading issue available. Definitely neat to see what was "cutting edge" back then.

Thanks for the post. I like Model Railroading ("ding")

It seems to have the 10+ page articles that MR really can't afford to run.

Thanks for posting. I found a 6 part series about Thurmond WV. The helps me with the details to sketch a realistic layout.
