Train Cams

Postby AstroGoat760 » Fri May 29, 2015 7:31 pm

Does anyone else here watch Train themed web cams?

I found one that covers the "Folkston Funnel" in Folkston, GA; and I am interested in finding others around the country/world to watch of similar quality.

Does anyone have any advice/thoughts?

The page that I have been using for watching trains from afar is http://virtualrailfan.com.

Here are a few screencaps from the last few days:

Nope. But I'm about to :) Heard someone mention real life cams recently but didn't know where to access them.

I subscribe to the TrainOrders site, which manages two;
Dunsmuir CA; UP (ex-SP) mainline to Oregon

and Sand Patch in PA... CSX (ex-B&O Keystone Division)

They used to have one on Tehachapi Pass as well...

It is also worth mentioning that Folkston has a number of train themed/based attractions, suich as caboose motels, and a viewing platform.

We are planning to take our summer vacation there - look for something TT in the weeks to come there.

I agree.

Seriously, a couple of days ago, Terry saw some tracks while we were on our way to buy a new Billy Goat, and would not stop asking us to stop so he could watch a train go by, until the Amtrak Crescent passed us by.
