Atlantis has made it to orbit for the last time, making this the third shuttle launch or landing to take place on my birthday (July 8).

I do not know about anyone else, but I plan on having a drink tonight in the hopes that the final shuttle flight ends with craft and crew home safe and sound.

Hail Atlantis, Queen of the stars!

It's kind of sad that the shuttle program is over :(

Here's to a good return and to our comrades out west welcoming everyone aboard Soyuz.

Cheers and Salut!

Yes, welcome aboard of the Soyuz!

(Maybe it's a good time to resurrect Buran?.. ;)

BTW, do you remember that SALUT is the Soviet orbital station?.. ;)

So on the orbital station, when they toast do they say "Salut!" or "Nazdravie!"?

......that sounded funnier in my head

BTW I've NEVER seen any Russian that said "Nazdorovie!" while toasting. :)

Usually Russians say "Budem zdorovy!" ("Let's be healthy!") or "Za zdorovie..." ("For the health... of somebody") - for example - "Za zdorovie Ivanova!", or "Vspomnim..." (Let's remember...) - if somebody died or is absent.

Speaking of the Shuttle, I just found a sticker I got when I was really young, still unused: "Columbia - Mattingly-Hartsfield"... :)

My 5-years-old son told that he wants to visit American museum to look at the retired shuttle.
So, Washington, New York, Los Angeles or Florida?.. ;)

You gotta go to florida. If you want to see space stuff, there's no better place than Cape Canaveral.
