Tillig Steuerwagen Bpmbdzf 269 IC model 13562

Postby ConducTTor » Wed Nov 18, 2009 10:51 pm

Inter city driving cab passenger coach.

Tillig grade details, comes with add on details.

Equipped with driving and tail lights. Lights are directional - 5 driving, 2 tail. It is impossible (at least for me) to capture all forward lights with a camera. There is a single yellow light in the center below the engineer's cab and then two set of two above the buffers. The double sets are blue/white on the outside and yellow on the inside. When switched to tail lights, the two yellow inside lights become red.

The coach comes ready for DCC with a NEM 651 plug under the cab. Electric pickup is from two wheels on one side of each bogie. The bogies are able to rotate 360 degrees so polarity must be observed before setting on the track.

The manual is all German with a few pictures showing where to add the detail parts and how to take the cab off for DCC chip installation.

Overall a very nice model with very low rolling friction.

Hmmm, maybe we should include pics of the real thing for all models? Nice to have in the same place for referance.

I don't yet know the new catalogue. But for the prototype there are different versions.
The initial type is not pressuretight. So it can't be used on German high speed lines. Because of the many single tube tunnels, the pressure is an important issue there.
But the version shown is the more modern pressuretight type.
On the image of the prototype, it's hard to tell, which version it is—I'ld guess not pressuretight.

Here is what I found out: There are 2 available versions of this type of car with driving cabin as listed in Tillig's catalog (2009-2010) the one (Bpmbdzf 296.1) that is shown in the above pictures presented by "ConducTTor", this version has a narrow window (on both sides) located after the cabin and it's funky shape window (in front of the sliding door) and it has different windows arrangement and seats compared to the previous released versions of IR version (Art. #:13560) and IC version (Art. # 13561). The second version of this type (same colours=Inter City) listed in the TT NEWS for 2010 flyer as Article # 13563, same window arrangement as art.#s 13560 and 13561, bigger window in front of the slidding door (similar to the ones in the open seating area for the passengers view). Both versions of art. # 13562 and 13563 are not pressuretight cabins (same goes for 13560 &13561). The third version that it is not available on the market yet is listed in the TT NEWS for 2013, article # 13564 which it is the version of pressure tight cabin. Got little confused with all these items Tillig is manufacturing.

Only now I've seen that the model shown has rubber bulge protectors at the interchange doors (technical terms are a pure burden—they're hard to find anywhere). So it can't be pressuretight. But the plug doors are typical for the pressuretight version.
