Evil above evil: calling useless script kiddies and crackers "hackers" - a hacker is a noble professional: computer developers and programmers! Crackers are retards who exploit weaknesses in software and other such things, for the most part without really knowing HOW it works.

Hackers = Good. Crackers = Evil.

Yeah, the bastard came back 4 times the following day. However, I had found the "whole" and plugged it before getting the site up again.

Hackers = Good. Crackers = Evil.

At the risk of starting an argument, when most people see/speak/hear the word "hacker" nowadays, it is almost always in regards to the negative connotation. The first time that I came across the term "hacker" in an old electronics handbook, I was a bit shocked to see it used in a positive light. This is one of those cases of how a word changes meaning from good to bad for most people.

Mention the word "hacker" to most non-computer professionals and the first thing that comes to mind is people who Haggis with other people's computers.
Mention the word "cracker" to most non-computer professional and refer to a person, most people think of a racist connotation.

I will admit, I am not very programming literate, well at least not modern programming. I have done a few programs for my Apple IIgs in Applesoft BASIC, and that is all.

When I tried to explain to Nicholle what I learned yesterday about the difference between a computer hacker and a computer cracker, she said that a better term was a Computer Programmer Specialist.

I guess the only real constant about the English language is that the meaning of some words change, often from generation to generation...

In regards to "hacker", two things are primarily the cause of the shift in perception of the word (I won't say shift in meaning, because "hacker" in its original and positive sense will very likely continue to live on in IT circles). First was the bad (evil) movie called "Hackers" (which should have been called "Crackers". Second is a continuing /refusal/ of media outlets to use "cracker" instead of "hacker", despite many, many requests from not just random nobodies like me, but from significant names in the IT field.

But eh. Public perception often doesn't change regardless of what is done or said, so.

"Hacker" in my books at least (and I suspect amongst everyone in the IT field) will remain a positive compliment to give to someone (one never calls oneself a hacker - it's like a title of honour bestowed upon the worthy by their peers).

Something else that won't change? My desire to shiv every cracker and script kiddie!

Here is another very evil thing: hit and run drivers.

Nicholle's truck was hit while it was parked and the driver, in true connecticut fashion, took off without so much as even a "sorry".

The police here are of next to no help as well, which is top of the line for the people here.

I cannot wait to get the hell out of this shit-berg of a state.

Here is the thing that really pisses me off about this: this is the third time that this truck has been hit by someone who fled, and the second time while the truck was parked.

The first time was by a woman that ran a stop light in New Haven, Corrupticut, shoving the truck onto an ice patch, and headlong into a tree. Even though paint from her jeep was left on the truck, she never even stopped. Nicholle said that she saw the woman texting, and drinking a soda at the same time.

The second time the truck was hit, a female neighbor of ours across the street, backed up and hit the truck so hard on it's front axle, that the axle was bent from the impact. As Nicholle had just gotten into the truck, the engine was not yet running. Also, as Nicholle had not yet belted up, she was tossed pretty hard, and at that time, she was 7 months pregnant, and she hit the truck's center console belly first, causing Terry to flip, and for her to have contractions. I found out about the accident and told to go home to take care of her at aroun 8 at night. I ran home in 22.5 minutes, around 2.75-3.00 miles. I got there just in time to see the ambulance leave, so I chased it downhill, and got in when they opened the back door after I told them that with the truck damaged, and the van needing a new alternator, I had no means to get there myself.

The hospital was outright mean to me, refusing me access to Nicholle, as she was taken to the women's ward. Only after Nicholle would not shut up about wanting me there did they let me in with her. When they hooked her up to a scanner to see how Terry was, I was kicked out of the room. As I was drenched with sweat and dehydrated, and feeling dizzy from the run, I needed water, and asked them for some. Nothing doing. When Nicholle asked for some, they gave her a huge pitcher full of ice water. When Nicholle gave me a glass of water, the nurse slapped it from my hands and called me a male pig, using Nicholle to get what I wanted. I did not hear her tirade for long, as I fainted from the lack of fluids and exhaustion.

When I came to, there was nobody around, and the room I was in was locked from the outside (a waiting area.) I called my command, and my Chief came down and started making complaints about how Nicholle and I have been treated, and wanted to know where I was at. When he found out that I fainted and was dragged into a room that was then locked, he damn near blew his 7' tall stack.

If that was the only problem we ever had with that hospital, I would have considered myself lucky.

The third time the truck was hit was today.

I do not think that the culprit will come forward like incident #2 did.

Also to add to the list: Lawrence & Memorial Hospital, in New London, ct is very evil.

Those Haggis retards who are smashing my city up pretending to be "protesters". They're Haggis infants who just want attention, and an excuse to destroy Haggis. They need a good beating, or at least they need to learn how to chill out and enjoy this hugeass international party!

Found the SD card that the damage was taken on, and here is a shot of it:

Here is another thing that is very evil: kidney pain.
