suitable trucks for a Stillwell coach

Hi

I am wondering if we have anything in TT which looks close to these trucks used on Stillwell coaches?

Hmm... I suspect there are only two approaches:
  • 3d Printing
  • Decomposing an HO brass archbar truck... and re-building the truss from scratch

If you can make up a Sketchup model of one I would be happy to machine a master of one for you.

Rob, I will download it and give it a look. What version of Sketchup? Simple may be best for me ... remembering I failed technical drawing at school religiously, year in year out. Catholic schools ...

Good question, I will have to download the latest version and make sure there is an .STL file converter for it. Sketchup files are not backwards compatible so you need to make sure you create them with the correct version.

Be right back!

Ok, it is now called Sketchup Make and there is an stl file exporter for it.

Go here, http://www.sketchup.com/download and select "personal projects" and then follow the directions.

Just an idea, as a "last" alternative :snooty:

Think these are the best alternative ... 10' British N scale wagon underframes. 20.6mm cf. 20.3mm of the prototype. They are very cheap, easy to cut up and reglue/regauge. A real Stillwell truck is a complex thing but adding the visible detail would not be difficult.
