Suggestions for a Bahnbau crew car

Postby Rich1853 » Thu Aug 23, 2018 9:14 am

I want to add to my BR218 and BR233 BAHNBAU trains. (have 8 pieces of rolling stock).
Edit: also added a BR229 Bahnbau to my stable.
Been searching on line TT Katalogs, and looking at You Tube videos of BR218, 229, 233 Bahnbau, Gleisbau, Netz trains and images to see what they use. Very little or none at all shown. It appears all the maintenance crew cars in TT scale are club models. So I been searching for cars that some what resembles them except for the color. (I haven't use my airbrush in over 15 years). All of the DB Netz measurement testing cars are too long. I made a list of part numbers, number of axels, and their lengths. Any suggestions, and did they use hand me down, retired equipment.
This is one except for the number of windows. and axles in picture 3.
picture 1 - prototype (model only found in HO & G scales)
picture 2 - Tillig 13227
picture 3- 501838 (1st class), 501839 (2nd class)
picture 4 - 500378 (ATKK)

If they were in stock at Tillig-Club I could help you. But they aren't.

Why don't you take the longer prototype?

Here the prototype for the Tillig model 501807 (155mm long).

I think the passenger car as the basis for this model can be found at Tillig. I can take a look at my Club magazines.

A cheap base is the "Start" passenger coach 13579. It has fewer details than a normal passenger coach 16623. Another car with additional side doors is 16602. Both are freely available.

A possible Club model is 501497 with one closed end.

Well I bought two cars that I would have to paint in Bahnbau yellow. One is a BTTB dinning car 13751 photo 5 above, (this would go on my longer BR233 engine train).
The other is Tillig 501839 picture 3 above, (this would go on my shorter BR218 engine train).
Thanks for all your help.

I finally got to airbrush the two passenger cars to match the track maintenance crew cars. It was tough having a week right hand and not airbrushing for 15 years. I purchased a new air compressor with tank, a Paasche DC600R and a new needle and head made for acrylic paints. The color per the online https://marketingportal.extranet.deutsc ... -vehicles#
is RAL1004 which Vallejo Model Air has as p/n 71.078 Golden Yellow. The pliobond flexible adhesive should arrive tomorrow, that's what was used for securing the windows, and the weight. I will use it for the curtains made from ribbon. Hope it comes out good.
Now for logo decals.???

Finally got to assembled the crew cars with ribbon curtains and finished off with Tamiya flat aluminum painted hand rails and door handles. Also in the picture is the TeMos double bay lokschuppen in TT scale and a N scale Voller Wasserturm.
