Soviet Rail 1986

Expo86 in 1986 was a world exhibition in Vancouver BC Canada with the theme of 'transportation'. I got in free of charge as a member of the local bicycling association. The attached images are scans of pages from a souvenir booklet from the USSR exhibition. Portions of the booklet also were devoted to ships, trucks, and helicopters, etc.

It's not the "Red Arrow" train on the last photo.
It is ER200, high-speed (up to 200 km/h = 124 mph) day train, it was in operation between Moscow and Saint-Petersburg (Leningrad), spending 5 hours (4:59, later 4:39) in way from Saint-Petersburg to Moscow, or back.
It retired in 2009, today there are German-built "Sapsans" in operation between Moscow and Saint-Petersburg, spending 3:55...4:45 to travel from Saint-Petersburg to Moscow.

"Red Arrow" is famous train "No.1", but it is sleeper train - Red Arrow leaves Saint Petersburg at 23:55.
Red Arrow goes slower than Sapsan or ER200 - it arrives to Moscow at 7:55
(so you can have a good sleep  )
And it is not "streamliner" - it uses usual electric locomotive (but painted red)
