Snow Plow Castings??

Snow Plow Castings??

Postby Sventton » Tue Dec 06, 2016 3:25 pm

I thought I would take along shot......has anyone heard of, seen, any separate castings that represent Euro styled or Scandinavian loco snowplows? A few models happen to come with similar looking plows if I recall, but certainly not universal. A perusal of Shapeways did not show anything. I am thinking perhaps the Russian TT modelers have come up with one over the years??? Any help appreciated. John

Peresvet company produces some snow plows:

(see 4110, 4120, 4121, 4222) - but I am not sure if they are available as kits of separate parts.

Also, sometimes ago "Norkin-model" company produced "TSUMZ" snowplow (etched brass, ready-to-run model, not kit):

But maybe it is still possible to order a kit? It is necessary to ask Andrey Norkin about it.

My mistake, rather than a complete snow plow car, I was referring to a snow plow casting to attach to a loco's leading truck....such as on this Ra class.

It is something I could fashion myself from sheet plastic and inducing a curve....but it looks like it would be an ideal Shapeways project for someone. John

I understood it; but maybe you can contact with Peresvet or Norkin-model, if you like some of these snowplows. Maybe they can produce and/or sell some details and parts separately

It is on Shapeways. I have ordered a modification kit for DSB class N. It contains also a snow plow - which looks like the one on SJ T44 or SJ class D electric. I'll take a picture when it arrives and you can contact the designer if you like it to get the snow plows in a separate file.

The Shapeways 3D print has arrived. The new black material is different than FUD. I am not quite sure if it is better. The most important is that the designer re-scaled it wrong (or forgot to re-scale it). Don't order it until the problem is fixed.

O.k. can you post a picture of it anyway so I can see? Hopefully he will rescale.

If he could rescale these plows to TT scale from N, they would be useable for me. From one of his other Shapeway products.
