Semaphores or traffic lights

Semaphores or traffic lights

Postby Arseny » Sat Dec 18, 2010 2:32 pm

If you bulid american-style layout, you need semaphores or traffic lights, aren't you?

But I didn't see american-style semaphores in TT.
So, guys, how do you solve this problem?

Are the German, Russian or English semaphores or traffic lights suitable for America?

Or, maybe, the H0 or N scale are suitable?
If so, what manufacturer do you recommend?

Semaphores across the US varied quite a bit, I know of no makers of North American prototype semaphores, and none of the RT scale semaphores that I have seen match what was used in North America.

So, what is your advise? ;)
To use German semaphores, or to use H0-scale semaphores?..

There is nothing available that I know of. It will have to be something that we make ourselves (like everything NA tt).
My website: https://www.ttnut.com
It's the website you're already on. But if you want to be even more on it, click the link.

Not unless you want to model a signaled route. Many USA line had no signals of any kind. The typical small space we have for a layout can represent an unsignaled minor line easier than a signaled mainline....dave

It's a scratch built dummy signal, as he said. Joern has linked his printable version there: http://www.tt-board.de/forum/showpost.p ... stcount=33

I don't think so. You can also try to contact him per his ttnut account.
