Re: DIYish DCC Booster Module

Is there any provision for adjusting track voltage? HO may not be ideal for TT.
For example = https://sites.google.com/site/markgurri ... k-voltages

Re: KRES VT 135 lighting

Zero ohm resistor is also considered a permanent jumper. My guess is that the 0 ohm resistors look like the components on the DC plug in the socket which are marked 000. They measure zero resistance. I added jumper wires as shown and the model runs with all the lights on, which is fine. I hope to g...

Re: KRES VT 135 lighting

Thanks, Richard. I have all the PDFs from KRES. The circuit board is double sided. The instruction sheet shows the body as separate item but doesn't show how it is fastened to the model. I haven't been able to detach it to look at the under side of the board. Holding it to the light I can see the tr...

KRES VT 135 lighting

When the KRES VT 135 first appeared a few years ago I bought the DC version right away instead of waiting for the DCC version. I put in a decoder and it worked but the lights for reverse direction never functioned properly. I thought this was because I should have bought the DCC version. Information...

Re: Tweaking Zimo MX648 for GP9 project

We program at meetings (cracker-barrel/regulars' table and exhibitions). At the moment we have a break, no meetings in the next two months. It's a hobby and can wait. I'm curious about this. How does it go? Do you use one layout? Different test tracks? A command station, or Sprog? Computer o...

Re: Tweaking Zimo MX648 for GP9 project

It is clear that I don't know enough about this to help at all. I wish I did, and am trying to learn. Since the 'pseudo programming' was designed to do what you want to do, then it should work, especially since Roco and Zimo are associated. I have read a lot from discussions of this and from the Zim...

Re: Tweaking Zimo MX648 for GP9 project

I never heard of 'pseudo-programming' before this and decided it must be called 'pseudo' for a good reason. This page discusses Zimo's 'pseudo-programming' and says the settings disappear when power to the decoder is turned off. https://www.hornby.com/uk-en/forum/zimo-cv-266/ It quotes Zimo document...

Re: Tweaking Zimo MX648 for GP9 project

The easiest solution is to accept the sound the way it is. If you don't want to spend more money then that might be your only choice. The cheapest tool to do what you want probably is the basic Sprog at 50 pounds. https://sprog-dcc.co.uk The software to operate it is available free of charge. https:...

Re: 2020 Western Rails

According to people at Central Hobbies (Monday is Bill Dixon's day off) the show is happening. No information saying it isn't.
