Re: HP products casted parts

Thanks Ron! I wasn't sure, I have a couple engines with it mounted in the opposite direction and they have a wire formed to replicate the linkage, it runs up to the cab. But those are small, 0-6-0's and Atlantics if I remember right. Do you think some of those other cast brake parts could be Gandy ...

Re: HP products casted parts

And Ron, if you read this is that reverser on backwards? it's pointing towards the front of the locomotive, the cab is behind the air tank- John Harmon built that one, did he make a boo boo? Ok, lets backup a minute, concerning the posted list of parts (previous log entry, photo on 2/13/20). I now ...

Re: HP products casted parts

The headlight.....looks slightly to large to be an HP part. The HP headlight casting is a little different. The displayed casting could be an HP headlight for one of the larger locomotives (2-10-4, 4-6-6-4). 3rd row....the first brake cylinder is a HP freight car cylinder / air reservoir, second bra...

The unread post icon is still small. Location of the icon is just before the author's name. I tried to copy and paste and wound up with the following (below).

Thanks for preparing a fix for the post / unread post icons. I thought I had noticed something a little different when I read the unread posts the other day. Just another part of the wonderful life of getting older.....we all don't see as well as we did 10 years ago. :( :(

Re: Lionel F3 + Tillig BR218

Terry Don't know if you have True Value Hardware in your area, but the "Zip Strip Premium Paint and Finish Remover # 272012" works pretty good at removing the paint from the Lionel shells. I don't know if this is still available, since it's been 3 or 4 years since I stripped a Lionel shell. For the ...

Re: HP 4-6-2 project

As a follow up, this locomotive turned into a success. It ran for three hours continuously at train shows last year. It needs repainting and it needs periodic checks for possible loosening running gear but otherwise is reliable. Conversion to DCC is simple as shown in the diagram. It works. - Terry...
