Since weights are placed below the vertical center of a car, I'd assume they lower the center of gravity which seems like a good thing in the case of superelevation

We just did something really outrageous. We're going with a coupler that's 0.15mm too high, hopefully this will not result in horrendous rail disasters. There are tankers in this train!

I really need a few of the flatcars, hopefully long enough to convert into a container flat. Thinking of making some MATSON containers to match the local intermodal operator here on the islands (Hawaii) that my son and I see all the time. Thanks for the responses. I like it all... the Peresvet may do just fine for now on a student budget. They do look close enough to what I'm used to seeing.
